Early Life
Rosemary Rogers was born on the 7th of December 1932, in Panadura, British Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). At the age of 86 years old, she passed away and held Sri Lankan nationality. According to her birth date, she has a birth sign of Sagittarius while her ethical and religious beliefs are still a mystery.
In addition, she was born to her parents Barbara “Allan” and Cyril Jansz were Dutch-Portuguese settlers who owned several private schools. Rogers was surrounded by servants and protected from much of the outside world.
Rogers began writing at the age of eight and wrote many romantic epics in the style of her favorite writers, Sir Walter Scott, Alexandre Dumas, père, and Rafael Sabatini, throughout her teenage years. As a feature writer for a Ceylon newspaper, she was the first woman in her family to work outside the home.

Following her academic career, she went to a local high school near her hometown. After finishing her schooling, she enrolled at the University of Ceylon and earned a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts. During that time, she used to work as a reporter.

At the age of 86 years old, Rogers died on November 12, 2019, at her home in Monterey, California. The reason behind her death is unknown and may have died from a natural cause.
Professional Career
Rosemary Rogers is a bestselling author of historical romance novels. She began her writing career in the early 1970s and her first novel, “Sweet Savage Love,” was published in 1974. It became a bestseller and established her as a leading voice in the romance genre.
Relationship Status
In her life, Rosemary Rogers married three times. Meanwhile, she married Summa Navaratnam, a Ceylonese rugby player and track star. With the marriage, the couple has two daughters, Rosanne and Sharon. Moreover, the couple divorced and Rogers moved with their two daughters to London in 1960.
Later, she marries Leroy Rogers married in his hometown, St. Louis, Missouri. She and her family relocated to California, where they raised their two sons, Michael and Adam.
Rogers was left to support herself and four children on her salary as a typist for the Solano County Parks Department after her second marriage ended after eight years. Her parents moved in with Rogers the following year, in 1969. Rosemary met Shirlee Busbee in Solano County and became her friend and mentor.
Later, in September 1984, she married poet Christopher Kadison, who was 20 years junior to her. However, it was a short-lived union.
